interesting happenings at work.
Since self documentation is not the most accurate reference point, I might as well place it in a public medium to accurately document all of my possible editions of what is happening in my life.
Sometime about a week and a half ago, my boss Carol, called me and asked if I could work new years eve. She did so by leaving a message on my phone specifically stating that if I had any questions "not objections" that I am to call her. She said New Years day nine A.M. The call was before Christmas, and I worked on the day after,Saturday, closing shift 5:00-sometime after midnight. (I also have evidence that my hours are being rounded down on my paychecks, but this will be addressed later, with more precise evidence in the future.) I checked the schedule, and it had the same routine schedule on it as before, with me working from 5-close on the following saturday, I reasoned that since Carol had so recently created the schedule that she did not add the specific New Years hours she mentioned in her message. Later that week, on New years day, I came in to work at 9AM. To my surprise my coworker, who ever they might have been, was not at the cafe. A short while after I clocked in and started going through the routine of opening the shop, Carol arrived, and after a few moments proceeded to inform me about how I was in fact not scheduled to work on new years day, and that she did not remember calling me about working on the shift. The co-owner Mike witnessed the ordeal, and saw and heard all the words in the conversation. In an apologetic action, and possibly due to a mention by Mike, my inconvenience was compensated by two hours time and a half pay.
I worked the next day in a routine night shift. My paycheck was for the previous two weeks was 14.5 hours, though I routinely work 7.5 hour shifts. Again, this warrants further documentation.
