People talk, they don't communicate.

I hope the image worked. I think La professora le gusta mucho.

After watching a movie called Quest for Fire I realized that all species are linked by forms of communication, and that everything about everyone can be made transparent. I realize that the word CAN is of the utmost importance as we all can misread and miscommunicate. Additionally, some thoughts simply can't be put into words, and we can only hint their presence by our ineffectual means. In the movie, a group of cavemen lose their flame, which is identical to a death sentence in the era of the characters, so the quest to retrieve fire begins. What hinted at the communication I so dearly loved was the authenticityof the languages in the movie. The filmmakers created a completely original language, designed by the same man who wrote the slang in Stanley Kubrick's Clock Work Orange. What amazed me about the movie was how, if one listened carefully, one could actually pick up the meanings of the words being used in the film, by the end of the movie, one can discern that aata means fire. Through the story the characters learn language, and means of communication as well. Even the common hand wave is learned by the heroes of the movie.
The amazing thing about the movie is the way that the characters learn language is the same as the way people language barriers today. When the characters interact wiht a foriegn tribe, the same clueless looks, and universal gestures apply. The characters express their thoughts in the purest way possible, from their facial expression, to their hand gestures. One can see straight into their minds. The same thing applies in social interactions today, everything is expressed, in one way or another.

sinuous: having many curves, bends, or turns; winding; also, indirect; devious.
